The MICC Parents Council works with the Principal, Staff and the Board of Management for the betterment of the young people in the school and to build an effective partnership between home and school. We contribute to ongoing policy development and support school functions and events.
We organise a fundraising raffle and the funds raised are used to improve resources. We funded new jerseys, and have purchased a sofa and i-pads for the Special Classes. This year we hope to fund outdoor seating.
The Parents Council is the structure through which the parents/guardians can work together for the best possible education for their children. We aim to support and empower parents to be active in the best interests of their children’s educational lives.
All parents are encouraged to get involved and we would welcome new members to our next meeting.
2017-18
The Parents Council were delighted to present a cheque for €1,284 to Dr. Jason from West Cork Rapid Response, when he attended the school and spoke with the students recently. Many thanks to all students and staff for their generous contributions on No Uniform Day.
We also held a raffle at the TY Show in Rossmore. The show was a huge success and enjoyed by all. Congratulations to everyone involved. Many thanks to all who donated and collected the prizes, helped out with the raffle and bought tickets. We intend to use the monies raised to support school life in the coming year.
The Parents Council wish to congratulate the class of 2018 on their recent Graduation. We wish all exam classes , and their parents, the very best of luck. We hope all teachers, staff, students and parents enjoy their Summer holidays.
