While the staff and students are justifiably proud of our excellent facilities, it is people who are at the heart of what Maria Immaculata Community College is all about. We aim to provide the best possible education for all our students so that they have the opportunity to make the very most of their particular talents and aptitudes. We believe that we are doing this in an environment that is safe and friendly, as well as stimulating and challenging.
The success of this College is built on providing the following:
Our teachers are highly qualified, extremely enthusiastic and deeply committed to ensuring that each student fulfils his or her potential. We recognise the crucial role that we play in the life of this community, and the responsibility that this brings. We also recognise the importance and value of partnership, of working with students, parents and with the community as a whole. Parents are encouraged to become actively involved in the education of their children. The Parents’ Association has an active representative group, the Parents’ Executive Council, which contributes to the overall development of the College. Similarly the Students’ Council in the College provides an opportunity for students to have their opinions and views heard and debated
The need for every young person to have an excellent education was never more important than it is today. Working together with students and parents/guardians, we in Maria Immaculata Community College believe that we can provide such an education. By doing so, our students will be equipped with the academic achievement and the life skills required for their future.
Maria Immaculata Community College was established in 2002 under the joint trusteeship of the Daughters of Charity and County Cork Vocational Educational Committee, and is now under the joint trusteeship of the Diocese of Cork and Ross and Cork Education and Training Board .
The college community continues to build on the excellent traditions of our founding schools.
