Congratulations to Becca Hennigan on achieving the best Leaving Cert results 2018. Overall, MICC was very proud of the class of 2018 with 14 students achieving over 500 points.
A group of staff and students spent 3 weeks in July volunteering in Zambia with the charity Habitat for Humanity.
Well done to all the winners in our annual awards ceremony. This year the guest of honour was our very own Cllr. Declan Hurley, County Mayor of Cork. The overall Student of the Year 2018 is Hannah Ross.
Dr. Jason from the West Cork Rapid Response recently visited MICC to collect a cheque from a recent fundraiser in association with the Parents Council. Dr. Jason also gave a very informative talk to the students on staying safe and making choices.
TY students recently enjoyed a great weekend in Mount Melleray as part of their Gaisce Adventure Journey.
All Second Year Geography students went on a 2 day Field-trip to Glendalough, Dublin and New Grange.
Transition Year students recently thoroughly enjoyed a ski trip to Lavarone in the Northern Italian Alps.
The MICC Athletics Team 2018 won the ‘Best Overall School’ category at the West Cork Schools Cross Country Championships.
TY students taking part in wheelchair basketball in association with the Irish Wheelchair Association at Neptune Stadium recently.
Caithlin Hurley, Liadh Hennessy, Anna Deane along with Ms. B. O’Connor recently took part in the BT Young Scientist at the RDS. Their project was on the ‘Effects of LIving Outdoors on Serotonin Levels’.
